Ride the Wave

Yesterday Google unveiled a new collaboration tool that allows people to communicate in real time with each other. Very innovative. They have implemented instantaneous everything. Well almost everything, but I'm sure the video and voice will come.

House Spin-off

Fox just ran a pilot for a new show, Mental. It seems to be a House spin-off. The head of the hospital is Cuddy. The main doctor is House, but without the drugs and cane, though just as crazy. I hope they spin the show in another direction, because House is House and doing it over again probably won't generate the same following. Here's to a new idea Fox.

The Beach

Went to the beach a short ride, decent run, long walk from my place today. The beach is small compared to what I picture when I think beach, but so far all of the Hawaiian beaches have been like this. The sand is soft, was easy to walk on, was not hot. The water was perfect! You could just walk right in, no need to jump in and get use to the temperature, no getting your feet wet and then splashing water a little at a time on the rest of your body.

There were not a lot of people, but that's nice for a small beach. I'm thinking of running there in the mornings after the sun comes up and just laying out until I start to feel the sun, then moseying back. We'll see how that pans out tomorrow.

Equality?

Why is it okay for the President to be openly racist? Supporting one race without supporting the others is racism. If President Bush had given a wreath to just the white's who served in the Civil War, then he would be lambasted for his attempts to honor our countries fallen. Yet President Obama sends a wreath in memory of the blacks who served in the Civil War and this is a great recognition. How is a country so focused on equality, so willing to allow open racism? If we ever want to move past the times of racial inequality America, we need to stop recognizing any accomplishments based on race. We need to stop forcing companies to interview people unfit for a job. We need to show recognition and support for all Americans. If you want to recognize the fallen from any war recognize them all. Not a select few nor just the majority. Recognize the entire group, otherwise you are not looking to solve any problem, you are just contributing to it.

Here's to all the fallen and all those still standing. Continue to serve men, make your country proud.

Roommate

So I recently moved to Hawaii and got a place to stay with another guy who was new here as well. Turns out this was a very inept idea. I'm going to be saving a ton of money, but as of right now (not even seven days in) the idea is starting to drag me down.

He has no desire to ever go out and do anything except hitting the gym. He doesn't clean up after himself. He uses my things without asking and doesn't take care of them. I was expecting to get to Hawaii and have the time of my life. And so far that hasn't exactly panned out. Hopefully things change once my stuff gets here and I can just focus on doing what I want without interrupting the nothing that is his life.

I'm done ranting for today...
